Yesterday I bought a Marlin 795SS to use in my first Appleseed shoot. I'm really anxious to get it and start shooting it. I also bought a sling, swivel set, Tech-Sights and a sight tool. I also signed up for my first Appleseed.

If you know of a good place to buy 4 clips for my Marlin 795SS please let me know. Shoot safe my friends.

My two local sporting goods

stores in Eastern Iowa have them on the rack, 10 rd mags, for a few cents under $20 plus tax. That may not be cheap enough for you if you find themin Michigan...but you can figure that out with postage, convenience, that sort of thing. I am just saying you can probably find them locally if you wish. I am commenting on this because at one time a few years ago those mags were almost impossible to find. I think something to do with Marlin being bought out by Remington and moving production facilities.

I recently bought three mags from this guy. Shipping is $1 each if you buy more than one. Best deal I could find at the time, considering the cheap S&H. Mags got to me in a few days too...

I just put together a blued 795 with tech sights, sling, DIP trigger and guard. So with the 3 extra mags my $130 rifle is now a ~$300 rifle, lol.

Vee 3 et al

My go-to .22 rifle...my overall favorite for shooting is a 795 made in 2008 that I got in 2009. At that time one could get, from Numrich, a laminated wood stock for 795s so I sold the plastic stock and put the wood laminate on. I also equipped with Tech Sights, Dip Trigger and T/G. I have sling swivel studs on it. Yes, I think around $300 invested...and worth every penny. I love that gun.

And, speaking of mags for it. I have around 10 of them in 10 rd capacity for range shooting. Load them all and I am set to shoot 100 rds

And, here is my craft idea for you Marlin lovers...that little pasteboard insert in the blister pack for the Marlin magazines can be slipped out and then laminate it with a little plastic laminate and you have a nicely themed Marlin book mark to use or to give to your shooting friends. Just a little fun thing to do.

7 round blued $9.17

10 round nickeled $11.67

Not thrilled about past behavior of the company, but so far they've held up their end of my orders.

A\M magazines

Feeding solution for installing the magazine is to disassemble the action and block sand the magazine fees well. You will be pleasantly surprised for much easier it is to insert a magazine.

I found a deal on the Pro Mag series 25 round magazines for my 795, I bought two. I ran some rounds through it and they worked so well I bought four more. The issue is hit or miss that , last shot hold open, sometimes works. It's fun and doesn't bother me if it holds 100%.
However, those magazines function in my Papoose as well as my bolt action XT22 YR, but I had to remove my magazine plate to get it to work.

Good luck and enjoy.
