best receiver choice for a high polished finish?

Preparing to build another one and looking for opinions, ideas, experiences, regrets, or whatever thought you may have as to what receiver is the best choice with the intension of maintainably a highly polished finish

Accuracy is always a concern but looks matter to me on this one

I have seen moa makes a stainless receiver but have no experience with them.

I also have a question out for KIDD to see if they will let me get an unfinished receiver to screw up

TI offers a clear anodized receiver, as well as several other colors..they may have something that interests you

ETA: they also offer a stainless receiver and one that uses an AR type charging handle

Send a message via AIM to Chaser
OEM's are do-able...
Takes a bunch of work to strip/sand..then buff.
Better quality from the get-go would be KID or TI if they will sell ya one in-the-white..EZ to sand a tad then buff from there.

Tony worked with me on a polished 2-stage trigger housing a few years ago. He sent it to me unassembled, I polished it, sent it back and he sent me the finished product. I'm sure he would be more than happy to get you dialed in.

I did a factory one already and it turned out "Perdy" nice, but was a pain to get there...

Glad to hear Tony might let me get one unfinished that would be very helpful

What are you guys experience with the stainless receiver from TI? On par with Kidd products? Matching stainless receiver and barrel would make me very happy for sure!!

I haven't seen a TI SS receiver. I do have a black anodized CH22. Fit and finish are very good, but Kidd's black anodized is smoother, a bit more refined. Just a bit.
I'd bet their stainless offering is very nice.

TI is supposed to be offering a rear tang, but in my last communique from Craig at TI, I was told that the rear tang has been put on the back burner.

Not cancelled, but went from "Some time just after Shot Show" to "Don't know if we will get to it this year"

I would give Nodak a call and see if they would sell you a "Non-anodized" unit!

Think I'm going for the stainless TI, thanks for the info guys I hadn't seen that one yet!

Any issues running Kidd bolts or other components with them? Already got the rest of the parts here so they need to work together

Fyi for anyone thinking of doing this KIDD says they will not do receivers in the raw anymore. They seem to be going further and further away from a custom shop approach to production rifles...
