I just acquired this NIB MK-II( KMK-4)last week. It was made in 2003. I'm happy to be a new member here but I know that there is much for me to learn about these pistols on this forum. Following are some pictures of my KMK-4:

to RFC and the Ruger Mark pistol forum. Nice pistol and there's lots of fun killin' cans with these hand-guns. There are some really neat ground targets out these days that one can chase all over creation with a nice pistol like that. As always stay safe and shoot in a safe direction.

Thanks for the nice welcome guys!

For many years in my State the Mark series Ruger .22 pistols used to be seen in every gun shop and Sporting goods stores. But until I'd found and purchased this KMK-4 last week via a private party transfer I was unaware of the fact that here in CA these pistols cannot be sold and are off the Roster! So in view of this I feel extremely fortunate to have been able to acquire this super nice pistol!

Off the Roster

Why are they not on the roster in CA?

Mark II in CA

That Mark I is a beaut, is it not?

Bye the bye, I purchased a Mark II Competition Target, with a red dot sight, just this month here in California. It was on consignment at a gun store. However, I do not think you can import one into the state. It cost me $425, perhaps it is was a bit much, but it is a really great pistol. The eyes are not as good as they once were, and the red dot sure helps. I once had a S&W K-22 which sot very well, but the Mark II is by far and away the best shooting iron I have ever had the privilege to shoot.

Search around for more in this subject, but bottom line is CA is controlled by people who want residents to have no choices when it comes to buying handguns. The State Approved Handgun List gets shorter and shorter each year.

I remember during the LA riots 20ish years ago, new handgun buyers were shocked that they couldn't just go buy a handgun for protection during the riot. Buyers of new handguns had to wait 10 days before they could take 'em home. Once that died down, non-gun owning people went back to ignoring the gun laws that didn't affect them and trusting the government to protect them.

Same thing happened in Connecticut after the Dr Petit home invasion and murders.
