What and why

is this forum doing here? What besides owning this cartridge in a rifle is worthy of comparing to an LR or WMR or anything like a .17 HMR?

Yes. It was to be introduced BEFORE the HMR but some foul up made the HMR the first entry. Then they follow with this.

What is the usefulness of this?

Why do forums dedicated to late comer obsoletes still exist?

Come on and convince me you HM2 adherents!

I want some real stuff to process in my head and I need your dedication to justify the HM2.

So are you trying to start a flame war? Why don't you post some more pictures of your 77 and brag about how accurate it is.

17HMR = Kablooey
17HM2 = Lot less kablooey
22WMR = good bullet choices

17HMR = $13+ @50 rounds
17HM2 = $6 @ 50 rounds
22WMR = $12+ @ 50 rounds

17HMR = 200 yards hunting
17HM2 = 150 yards hunting
22WMR = 150 yards hunting

17HMR = super flat trajectory
17HM2 = really flat trajectory
22WMR = rainbow trajectory

17HMR = super accurate
17HM2 = super accurate
22WMR = meh

Probably of no interest to you, white house.

They don't make Tommy Guns chambered in 17M2.

From the above posts it would seem your reputation preceeds you sir. Just the same I don't know you, nor you I, I'd suppose. Is it not enough that the Mach2 DOES have a loyal following? Is it not enough that ANY folks shooting ANY caliber is a good thing for the shooting sports in general?

Frankly, I don't understand your adversarial approach to fellow shooters? What purpose is to be served by coming here and trashing the object of our fancy? If for some misinformed reason you have formed a negative opinion of the Mach2 why not just go to whatever forum is frequented by those who share your preferences and leave us to ours?

NC Buckeye came to this forum just a week ago asking essentially the same questions but in a polite maner. He received several pages of reasons WE think this is a terrific cartridge. In the end I think he's been convinced. From your initital tone I get the impression you've already made up your mind. If so, and with all due respect, please re-read the preceeding paragraph.

Hoping to avoid close-minded ignorance hiding behind bluster.

It worked until today, too.

If you really want to know about the HM2, buy one and find out for yourself!

I had an HM2 in the Kimber pistol, the Anschutz 64 action and wondered what gives. After having experience with the HMR.

What gives?

Why do some people perfer Pepsi over Coke? Its the same idea. Just cuz you dont see a purpose in it, dont mean everyone feels the same!!!!!

Its cheaper to shoot than the HMR. Just as accurate. Not as flat, but better than the .22lr and .22 wmr.

If I wanna reach way out there, I have a .308 for that.

I, for one, am a huge fan of the .17hm2. Im wondering what gives with the HMR!!!! Overrated, and overhyped!!!!

Just my $.02!!!!!
