I thought I'd do my part:
22lr, thumbhole stock, carbon barrel, Warne rings, Bushnell Buckhorn 3x9x40 with readjusted parallax, Butler Creek flip covers, stoned and polished stock hammer, polished guide rods and bolt, reversed hammer spring, nylon spacers, free floated, 30rd mags - sanded and dry lubed for function, Rock Mount 9x13 bipod.

Future mods:
sear spring replacement, glass bedding, trigger shoe, VQ hammer and extractor when I feel like 3.2 lbs of pull is just too much

This is sadly one of the few photos I have of my 597 LS HB. I have an %%% load of photos of targets that I have shot, but not many of the rifle itself.

It is a factory laminate stock that comes on the LS HB. I like the thumbhole that comes on the Tech Target from Dicks Sporting Goods, but I don't think I am going to upgrade anytime soon. The gun budget is pretty slim nowadays.

I wonder if I can get just the stock somewhere? Have any idea where? Maybe remington?

Someone else will answer that... there was a closeout on the stocks just recently for like $25. They were "factory seconds", but only had minor imperfections. Maybe do a search here in the 597 forum for "stock" and see what comes up. There are a few options out there for stocks.

Here's ours - the wife's is the one on the right.

And mine with a target at 25 yds (forearm supported on bag) - squirrel-worthy, but not yet quarter-inch club:

I did enjoy the learning process of painting the pink one, I will say that much. But, that's how the wife wanted it, so SWMBO gets what she wants! Alas, she is now with child, so she hasn't gotten to shoot it yet.

The laminate one is one of the Boyd's $25 specials, all I did was fit some spacers between the receiver and the stock, but other than that, nothing special.

Here's our new 597. My daughter's actually. Gave it to her for Christmas.

Turned out to be a very nice shooter. First 350rds we had 3 stovepipes. By the end of the next 150 it started happening a little more frequently. The trigger is just under 4lb. My daughter is thrilled! Ever since last spring when she saw it at Gander Mtn every time we went in that was the first place she had to go, to see if that rifle was still there.

Nice one! Your daughter is lucky! If the stovepipes are more frequent with more rounds perhaps its in need of a clean? Guide rod screws?
