The Official SS/B "Flier" Thread.....

That's right folks, we shoot'em from time to time, and we certainly like to complain about them too.....

Let's make this our own special file for those dastardly and annoying things we have to deal with.....FLIERS.....

And here's my first contribution to the "flier File".....

While shooting @ 75 yards with the CZ Trainer for the Bullseye game, everything started out real good. Shot #1 went right into the 10 ring, shot #2 right next to it, when I pulled the trigger on shot #3 I heard a far different sound, when I checked it through the spotting scope I couldn't believe my eyes....(notice the little hole on the bottom left of the paper)....
Now just to prove to myself it was deffinitely the ammo and not me, I fired shots #4 and #5 right into the bull.....
This was the CMP Aquila standard velocity, and out of several hundred that I have fired I don't remember any sounding as differently as this one did, otherwise it has been a fairly consistent ammo, not the best, but certainly not the worse either......

I know I'm not the only one this happens to, so let's see'em....show us your fliers, tells us how it happened, what game or match were you shooting when it reared it's ugly head and bit you where the sun don't shine........

HAHAHAHHA!! The little fly at the bottom is hilarious. Nice touch!

This will be a fun thread. I usually throw mine away in a hissy, but I will have to start hanging on to them now.

Shoot, anyone can get in this "Flier" club with inexpensive ammo, now try it with TeneX!
The other groups just show the conditions of the day but there wasn’t ANYTHING out there that could have caused the lower left targets dropped shot DISASTER.

Come on now mchughcb, that ain't no "flier"....that shot still counts as a "10"....

Now if it had ventured over to the "7" ring...or as in my case completely out of the scoring zone.....That would be a flier......

Yeah, this will be a fun thread...

Sometimes I get 5 fliers on one bull!!

On one target with my 541S at 50 yds with RGB's on the last shot, I got a flier about 1-1/2" left. My thought is that the skirt on the bullet might have been deformed to have caused it.

So, I now have a place to post all those ugly fliers.

Talk about fliers! Usually if there is a deformed skirt anywhere near me... well, you get the idea.

No pics here, but I think the local landfill has risen at least an inch or two from all my discarded targets with 'fliers'

Of course they are never my fault...

Being that you're from Kalifornia I suppose it's all George Bush's fault then.....

After all, any President that can convince a catagory "5" hurricane to wipe out New Orleans certantly had to have a hand in this conspiracy.....

I heard some kooks on the radio last night explaining that Bush and Cheney can 'steer' a hurricane in whatever direction they want, dial the Cat level up or down depending on how much destruction and/or just fear they want to inflict, and also their evil right-wing strategy behind it all. These guys were dead serious.

Here you go. These dang flyers were biting today.

These are a couple of targets I shot for Tony's 75/100yd game. They were both shot with the CZ 452 @ 75yd. The Fed 510's did real good, then zap, dang flys. All in all they do quite well out of the CZ and can't expect anymore from my lowly Rigger Ammo.

The first I had a nice group going then I heard a low powered one. The second one I heard the same thing. Arghhhhhhhhhhh!!!

Well that's today's submission to the dang Fly list.

I guess I could have shot some targets in the last couple days, but Gustav would have seen to it that I had some fliers, so I didn't try yet. Tomorrow may be good enough to shoot some and it is supposed to be better Friday and through the weekend.
