Hey becket
I'm a noob here. Just put a tapco on my 10/22. Now I'm looking for a new barrel. Just wondering what barrel that is on your tapco. I really like the looks of it. Is it a GM running boar?

mmb6363,
Welcome to RFC, and congratulations on your Tapco, great choice!

The Tapco stock is designed for a standard tapered barrel.

Both, the GM Running Boar, and the Volquartsen Muzzle Weighted barrel (as pictured), are .920 barrels, but since they are tapered, before going back to .920 at the muzzle end, either will fit in the Tapco stock, just as a standard tapered barrel would, without modification!

However, if you use a straight .920 barrel, you will have to modify (channel out) the stock for the .920 barrel to fit, and you won't be able to use the top front barrel cover!

Not at all. I threaded the screws into the plastic. It's tough stuff and plenty enough to hold it in place. However, if you wish, there is enough room for a backnut without interfering with the barrel.

Good to know, Craig! I was wondering about the barrel clearance, myself.

nice barrel.
I've been thinking of getting a shorty.
I really do enjoy the quiter longer barrel, I've noticed quite the soun difference between my current 20" and the factory 18"
Don't think I could handle the noise from a shorter than 18" barrel.
They sure do look nice though, and I bet they are a breeze to carry.

OK I'll try this

Hi all,
I'm a first timer so go easy on me!
Here's a picture of my evil black tactiplinker. I do have a scope on it at times, configured as a flat top, but I like the look of this better. When the world's downtrodden cans one day unite and rise up against mankind, I'll be ready!

It's done!

Well after almost a year of trying to decide what other mods I needed to do to my T-6. I think I am FINALLY finished with this 10/22.

Mods:
Tapco T-6
UTG Quad rail
UTG Fore grip
Hornet Products trigger
Weapon Craft bolt buffer
Bear Claw slip on muzzle brake
Aimpoint ML2 clone w/cantilever mount

It works... although the color doesn't match the T-6. I'm probably going to have to dye and paint the whole rifle to get all the colors even. I'm picky that way.

I recently put my T6 on and thought the angled stock looked weird, but I actually like it. I'm using iron sights and it works well.

Does the angled stock give you the correct cheek weld for your scope?
