Lithgow LA101 bolt handle knob
Wanting to do just a little 'something' to the new Lithgow LA 101 as a 'alleged' upgrade, I decided to focus on the bolt knob.
The factory knob is a handy pear shaped item. It feels good to hand, and compliments the overall aesthetic of the rifle.
Searching around I found Lumley Arms purveyor of 4 items Lithgow and items for Tikka and Remington.
I did order the steel bolt knob, trigger spring, and bolt knob thread adapter.
I have a bit of a dilemma as I fancy the Lumley bolt handle knob and the aftermarket 5/16x24 threaded Rem/Savage aimed knurled grip knob. Decisions decisions.....
Photo #1 shows the black pear shaped Lumley knob. 2mm wider and longer than the original. Feels great in hand and lends itself perfectly to curled finger bolt manipulation.
Photo #2 shows the Lumley knob placed
Photo #3 shows the Lumley adapter threat piece on the Lithgow: internal thread are M6x1.0 to fit the factor handle, external thread 5/16x24 to fit most aftermarket bolt knobs.
Photo #4 shows medium strength blue Loctite 242 on the external thread only to secure the aluminum knurled 5/16x24 aftermarket handle knob.
Photo #5 shows the aftermarket aluminum knurled grip knob in place.
I like both......a lot! Will let a bit of time go by before deciding which to stay in place.
I plan to use just a drop of 222 Loctite to hold it in place with the bolt handle.
