Spam is running joke in our household this year. My wife has always liked it, I had to eat it as a kid and never cared for it. When my wife cooked it, I’d give her a hard time about that junk she was eating. Then she picked up a bunch for herself earlier this year, she grabbed a variety of styles. She fried up some to go with eggs one morning, smelled terrific so I grudgingly took a bit. It was perty darn good with the eggs, but was of a type I never tried or knew about.....”Smoked”. Now when she slices it up and fryes in the skillet for breakfast, I ask for some too. She won’t ever let me live it down.

Bacon flavored SPAM is my favorite but low sodium and original are fine also.

I like it sliced, fried in a pan. Put on white bread with mayo and mustard .

Being part Hawaiian and growing up living in Hawaii I guess SPAM is in my DNA.
I remember ordering SPAM Omelettes at Zippy's for breakfast or getting SPAM musubi as a snack.

My parents grew up during the Depression and would literally eat (and enjoy) almost any part of any animal they could manage to harvest. However, they had no tolerance for Spam and I've always trusted them about this.

The SPAM Museum is located in Austin, Minnesota. I suppose it's made/concocted there as well. I like the Black Pepper and the Bacon varieties the best.

Thin slices fried. Covered with mustard and eaten. Bacon flavored is good.

Spam kind of sounds like a canned pork roll or Taylor ham. Fried with eggs sounds good. So, if itís good, itís probably bad for you. Like everything else that tastes good.

spam sandwiches...

> 1/4 inch slice spam and browned on a skillet, both sides.

> toasted or plain bread with mayo.

I had Spam for Thanksgiving dinner one year in Honolulu. I have been told that the only place that consumes more Spam per capita than Hawaii is Guam.

I don't know how true it is, but I remember reading in another forum years back that the reason why SPAM is hated so much now was because of the soldiers (especially ones that fought in the Pacific theater) being reminded of the smell of the bloated bodies rotting in the tropical heat as they tried choking down their SPAM rations.
