I had to hit the barrel pin pretty HARD to get it to come loose... but haven't tried to remove the barrel yet. (had to go to my son's youth baseball game) But it seems the guide spring IS NEEDED... at least on my gun.

That's what mine is doing.
$50 to hear the gunsmith say he couldn't separate the barrel from the action. "The two are as one", he said.
Second gunsmith didn't want to touch it.
THIRD gunsmith says try sending it back to Marlin...which I may do.
I have an option to let someone else try to fix it, but at this point he may be my LAST option if Marlin doesn't want to make an attempt.
Anyone here on the Forum have information, tips or tricks on how to contact/send the gun to Marlin? to help save time?
Good luck, OP.
Good luck to us both!
