349-4(93-0, 80-1, 87-0, 89-3) - 23's Dad, CA
Smallbore, C-Class, Sharpshooter
1962 Anschutz 1409 Heavy Barrel, Wolf MT, Anschutz 6705 rear sight, Tiger Sight Front, 2 stage 1407-U9 trigger, Palm Rest
50-ft Indoors, 50 degrees

That Sighting shot near the #2 Bull on the OH was a total brain flat. I lost focus when someone switched off the ventalator, and I got lost in the sight tunnel. We got the ventalator turned back on, and I got back on my string.

I also am working on getting a BalVAR24 set up on my M37.

Consistant

Well 23's Dad, You have really been consistent. You have shot 349's for the past 3 months. Nice prone clean there as well. How do you like the Wolf ammo? I just picked up a brick to see how it works with my rifles and so far I'm happy. It really feeds easy. Nice shooting.

Wolf Ammo

For where I'm currently at (stuck at 349 apparently), the Wolf ammo serves it's purpose. I can't attribute my flyers to the ammo, so I'm blaming the operator.

The only think I don't care for is the greasy feel of the ammo. It seems too slippery. Compared to RWS or Eley, the rounds just feel wet. I'd gotten a half-brick of old Winchester Western Super Match MkIII with my 40x, and that stuff was "perfect." I couldn't shoot any better, but the rounds felt right and it smelled so good! Anyway, the Wolf ammo doesn't stink like some other propellants do, but its no WW MkIII. If I ever run across that again, I'd grab it just for the smell. Is that wierd?

Can't stand candles or cologne, but I like the smell of that ammo, Hoppes No. 9, CLP, and Kiwi black shoe polish.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I just picked up some Wolf MT as well. It shoots great, but the powder smells funky.

Powder smell

I can't say I can smell the powder at this time, my sinuses are a bit screwed up currently (I'll try that when things clear up). I did notice the entire shell & bullets are coated with a lubricant, this is the first ammo I've used like that. It fed in both of my chambers with ease and shot as good as I could tell. I guess in the spring when I try the 50 yard shooting again I'll get a better idea. For now I am happy with the results and the cost. Now if I could just find ammo that would compensate for all the movements my bad knees cause in kneeling, that would be awesome (yes, a pipe dream but I can always dream).

I put a Simmons scope on the Winchester and it works great! I'll go back to peeps someday soon though. There's lots to learn from my shooting squad, a few of them shoot 390+ T-Class-- I can't even image shooting that steady in offhand.

Great shooting!

clydesdale is showing us that practice makes perfect. That's a pretty impressive jump - and not just because you switched to a scope. Your trigger time definitely is causing your scores to trend up.

I'm jealous!

See ya'll in December!
