Can we get a 52 pics sticky launched?

Hello all,

Glad to see the forum added the 52 sub. I have been going through the shooting boxes we used back in the 60's & have some nice period NRA manuals and even some embarrassing targets from when I shot as a kid.

For the picture sticky:

We used to pack up this 52 and a 61 for the NRA matches we shot as kids

Likely to be the only 52's I'll ever own, though I'd love to have a C sporter....

52C which has a replacement barrel of identical dimensions of its original, which I'm heartbroken to say, is lost to the ages. The original, which must have been some sort of special order, had all the original, normal winchester 52 roll marks. I had the barrel changed about 20 years ago, and in my ignorance at the time, had no idea that it was not a common 52 barrel diameter, I let the smith get rid of the old barrel.
Early pre-A, bought as a project rifle to build into the sporter I couldn't afford otherwise. a work in progress....

DPSTX, I'm sure you know that butt hook is mounted upside down, don't you? I like that Richards stock. Can't tell for sure in the pic, did you have the bolt handle reshaped?

Crow Feather,
In the competition I shoot in, we use the hooks as shown. We shoot standing up with a barrel rest. Rifle kinda hangs on you when you shoot.
Yes, I cut, turned and reshaped the bolt handle on the little one.

The bolt handle looks good. Sometime, if you get a chance, would you mind posting a close-up picture of the bolt handle?
Thanks,

Awesome 52 from 1919

I have been asked to post this here. Hope you enjoy. This is a very good friend of mine who is a gun and knife maker. This is his that he customized several years ago.
Win.52 Target Rifle made in 1919. Custom work includes: round to octagon barrel; restocked with English walnut; custom floor plate with integral mag release; custom shotgun trigger guard; recoil lug for looks; fluted bolt knob; custom made scope mounts and sling swivels.

A USRAC 52 Sporting does NOT require nor deserve anything approximating an apology.
