My ultimate 10/22 sporter build

Log in to see fewer ads
I posted some pics of this build wearing a factory stock earlier in the SuperStock forum.
Now that it is in itís final form I thought it might fit better here.
Details:
Kingston Armory steel receiver
Green Mountain 17Ē heavy taper barrel
JWH Competitor bolt and spring set
BX trigger
Factory Ruger mag and scope rail
Tasco 8-32x44 target dot scope (Japan made)
Larry Jennings custom ambidextrous walnut sporter stock (#158)
This one is definitely a ďkeeperĒ that I will never consider selling. It will eventually be passed down to my Granddaughter.

It breaks at just over 2lbs now. Thatís about as light as Iím comfortable with on a sporter. I do have a factory trigger (non BX) that I may send to them in the future.

Seconded! Brimstone will turn a BX trigger group from a better trigger into a very MUCH better trigger group. They'll take out almost all of the takeup and over travel (aka slop). And for a reasonable price, too...

The bx trigger job doesnt make it lighter, it just improves the trigger by taking out the mush, gives you a metal trigger blade that feels better, an internal trigger return spring and a real overtravel stop. When i sent mine in it was 1 lb 8 oz pull , and the same when it came back, only now it is a clean break and reset. But if you are happy, thats all that counts it certainly wont make it prettier, well maybe a little , since the Brimstone trigger blades come in colors

Enjoy your fine gun, its gonna be a lot of fun!

Thanks guys, I may send the BX trigger to them too. I'm pretty happy with this gun right now, I have run a couple hundred rounds thru it so far and am getting close to 1/2" groups at 50 yds. I think it will just get better as it breaks in. Now that I have a much better shooting bench, front rest and rear bag I hope to shoot some tiny groups! I will post up some target pics when I get a chance to do some more shooting.

That turned out really nice.

The heavy duty receiver with the beautiful stock is an awesome combination.
