I was debating .22 pistols a week or so ago, and after shooting a friend’s Browning Buckmark Hunter I was sold. I got this for a steal on an Gunbroker auction, especially with no one else bidding on it. It was being sold as used, but from what I can tell, it doesn’t appear to have been fired outside the factory.

The gun rug still has the miniature lock and keys. The Allen wrench for disassembly is still in the plastic bag stapled to the owners manual. No scrapes on the mag follower. No signs of wear or much handling anywhere. All the documentation, including owners manual, warranty card, NRA discount, factory shell casing, etc came with it.

I ended up at $330.00 including my bid, shopping, CC fee, and transfer fee.

I was hoping to shoot it after work tomorrow, but that will have to wait. I was field stripping it tonight to inspect and lube when I heard that “ting” that gun owners hate. I crawled around the floor with a flashlight looking for the tiny c-clip that holds the recoil spring onto the guide rod before I gave up. Brownells is out of stock so I ordered a complete rod/spring assy from Midwest Gun Works. Hopefully it will be here before the weekend.

You can put it together and it will shoot find. The C-clip just makes take down and reassembly easier.

Put the end of the rod in the buffer and compress the spring with a small screwdriver or device of your choice to place the buffer down in front of the stop. The C-clip is something like 1/32 iirc. Kind of hard to find, but not impossible. Fastenall comes mind.
