The FunShoot is & always has been a 1-try situation. No, we can't cherry pick the best of 4 targets like we can on the "regular" matches. As long as it was the 1st attempt (for a FunShoot target) I see nothing wrong with abandoning a "botched" target in mid stream & using the bottom half of it for a FunShoot target. I would assume that the "first half" attempt would have to count as one of your 4 allowables toward your "normal" match, even though it wsn't finished......

Am I going to be the only one shooting a standard rifle at 50 yards?

I'll report my two diget score tomorrow.

bd,
I'll try to get out this weekend and see if I can break 100 at 50 yards, standard rifle, should be pretty tough!

I think I did okay for my first time out with this rifle and it bing my first "quality" rimfire.

I'm still inept at scoring the hits, so I'll post pictures of the target in the morning and if you wouldn't mind, could you please score it. I got a couple x's which makes me pretty happy .

Battery on camera is dead so I scored what I think they are and will post the picture later.

50 yard standard rifle
Mike Petschek, San Diego,CA (BD457)
Cooper 57LVT-Leupold 6-20 EFR
Lapua Midas M

8,9,10,X,10,9,9,7,9,8,and 10,10
I get 127 from that if I added right.

here's shots 1,2,6,and 7

shots 3,4,8, and 9

Shots 5 and 10

Shots 11 and 12

and the whole target

Please correct me if I scored wrong.

Just for fun, I tried the same with my 1959 vintage Marlin 39A Mountie and a POS 3-9 Bushnell. I got a few score, but most were gutter balls .

I get 121 from that if I added right.

I'll edit this later with the picture.

Hope I do that well Mike. Any X's at 50 for me are rare!

thanks. I was pretty darn happy. I didn't think I'd do half that well.

I added the pictures above.

Did I score right? #3 looks worse on the picture than on paper.

Looks better than you scored, I get this:
8, 9, 10, x, 10, 9, 8, 8, 9, 8, 10, 10

Not sure how this totals up, Stan is official scorekeeper!

Looks like you cheated yourself, BD. I get the same as Shakey except I'd call shot #9 a "10" instead of a "9". For a total score of 136. Remember, all you have to do is touch the higher ring to get that score. And most of those that look close bare-eyeballed will make it when you insert the gauge.

I get:
8 - 8 (with a gauge this one might make 9!)
9 - 17
10 - 37
X - 66
10 - 85 (with a gauge this one might make X!)
9 - 94
9 - 103
8 - 111
10 - 129
8 - 137
10
10

I didn't want you to be the only shooter in the Standard Rifle class @ 50, BD so I took the CZ out this morning & popped one. You got me by 3 points....

June Funshoot 50 yard Standard Rifle Class
134 Stan Gibbs Kingsland, TX (Claybuster)
CZ 452E "Super BRNO Bushnell Banner 12X SK Pistol Match ammo
Fairly stock CZ - 28" barrel cut to 21" & re-crowned - Pillar bedded
Self-tweaked factory trigger, about 6-8 oz. (still windy here!)
10,8,10,9,X,9,8,10,9,10,8,8 (total=134)
