I got a look at the Legacy sports Escort yesterday. Not sure what to think. It will be interesting to see how they shoot. The metal finish wasn't really impressive, and the stock reminded me of a Zastava. Magazines did not interchange with the CZ 455, so l assume they won't with the 452.

Love to see some pictures and hear a range report.

It was in the back room of a local gun store. They haven't priced them up and put them on sale yet. Some times the wheels move slowly.

I wonder what Distributor they use? The entire first shipment was going to one Distributor, but they wouldn't say who it was.

Honestly, I'm not being snarky here,,,

Honestly, I'm not being snarky here,,,
But why all the hooplah over a clone rifle?

I've seen several threads in different forums,,,
Everyone seems to be all agog over this mystery rifle.

What's the attraction?

A new model or brand of a rimfire. What part do you not understand.

If the rifle is 2/3 rds the price of a CZ with a corresponding 2/3 rds the quality, then it could be a decent entry level bolt gun built on a solid design.

Or, if someone is looking to modify the gun almost immediately, it could be a good candidate. Kinda like some people have done to the Norinco clones. Like in this thread. https://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums...d.php?t=338708

Yup, the Norincos (which are no longer available for commericial sale here in USA since the '90's), the Toz 78 / Winchester Wildcat and the Romanian M69 Trainer too, all gone the way of the Dodo. The Norinco is the only one I am aware of that has the appearance of the Brno / CZ rifle. Its a pity - many of them are fun to shoot. EDIT - shucks, I forget the Egyptian Mansoura / Maadi, another Brno clone. Bad j.r. BAD !!

Here is a link to the Legacy Escort - not a bad looking gun.

Looks like better finish and timber than the current Norincos. A bit strange around the recoil pad though.

They do look decent for the price. I will try one for sure, if I can find one.

This is the one I'm really interested in:

A little research turned up that the rifle is being sold by Sportsman's Warehouse for the cheapest price I could find and showing in stock. May just make a purchase at the listed price.

Not bad at all and a low price, too.

Now you had to bring up the Russian Winchester! I almost bought one years ago. It was very light in the hands for a wood and steel gun. In hindsight, I wish I would have jumped on one when they were at clearance prices. Oh well.

That recoil pad on that gun makes me think of an outdoorsman wearing Crocs instead of hiking boots.
