Cased Browning Medalist

Saw it at my LGS this morning. Mint condition, perfect case, weights, other goodies and paperwork. $1500. Just thought it could be a reference for anyone thinking of buying the same.

Here's one that will shed light on what a nice Medalist will bring these days. The auction was started at a low price for a cased and complete Medalist, so it should attract a good bit of interest as Medalists go.

There are about 20 more cased Medalists on GB with no bids, ranging in price from about a thousand to several thousand dollars.

I think the Medalist and International Medalist (and Belgium Challengers) are, these days, some of the most under-appreciated handguns ever built. I find them to be awesome guns, rewarding and engaging to own and shoot. Yet, nice examples are often available for not much more than a new Buck Mark or other current high-volume, cost-cut, mass produced (no-soul ) semi-automatics (some of which I also own).

The Browning Medalist is underrated as to the quality, craftsmanship, and elegance that you get for what you pay.

The Browning Challenger was underrated for years and now prices are catching up to the value. Those things will last for several generations if you take care of them.

I value all my handguns that I have acquired over the years. My Medalist is among my favorites. When I pick it up it feels as if I am putting in on like a glove.

I think that they are the best looking regular production pistols ever made.

My international medalist has a crisp 2 pound trigger with no pre travel and consistent reset and very accurate and trigger is adjustable they don’t make them like that anymore
