I have several CZ .22’s including a 452 American and several 455’s. Also own a T1x. I have been quite lucky in that all of my CZ’s have been very accurate and I can shoot all of them to sub-MOA with the right ammo and conditions with the exception of the 22 mags; more variability there for the obvious reasons.

My 452 is my favorite .22 for its aesthetics and balance and accuracy but it is not as consistent as the T1x over a wider range of ammo, in particular higher velocity ammo. I use them both for different purposes and they are both fine rifles. I also own several Tikka centerfire rifles and they are really hard to beat. If asked to choose between them with respect to accuracy I’d have to pick the Tikka but if you told me I could only have one of them, I’d keep the 452.

I have two 455's and they can both shoot 1/4" 5-shot groups from 50 yards; *if* the t1x is better than that it cant be by much......

That's outstanding shooting from your 455. Details, we want details. Model, upgrades or mods, scope, etc. I don't think the 1/4" groups at 50 yards are representative of the average 455, you have a great one. Wow!

Tom, that's an outstanding target. What ammo were you shooting?

455 vs T1X

That is a nice group. It would be nice to see five groups of five shots to see how repeatable your results are. My 455s shoot triple the size of yours, and do it with match grade ammo. If mine shot that good I would be one happy camper!

Thanks fellas. I have a Tacticool 24" barrel and a model 02214 with a 20.5" heavy barrel in a McRee G10 chassis. The only actual modification I've done to either is replace the factory trigger spring with Hillman springs (Ace Hardware spring). I have a Nikon Black FX1000 6x24 on my Tacticool and an ATN 4K Pro 5x20 on my model 02214. I shoot Lapua Midas+ through them both. Here are a couple of 5-shot groups I've shot from them, all from 50 yards, mostly from my Tacticool:

Great groups and very nice shooting.

That's an interesting way to measure your groups. Not a fan of CTC.
However, I'm sure if I used my technique they would still measure out nice and small.

I take it back. You have TWO great shooting 455s. But I still don't think they're representative of the average 455. Nice shooting, TominTN. Nice indeed.

It really comes down to accuracy. Consistent accuracy. I've owned both a T1X and a CZ 457 Varmint. The T1X can consistently shoot 0.6 MOA or better 6x5 shot targets. The best I ever got out of the CZ 457 was just under 1.0 MOA. Here's a target shot from 50 yards with a stock T1X with Timney trigger.
