Alright gang the boss wants a real pic thread for a sticky. Lets put some targets up too.

How to post pictures~ https://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums...d.php?t=364702

My first 597-22. It was the first Remington semi-auto to qualify for the SuperStock 1/4" [email protected]
It's a plastic stock repainted w the following mods: floated barrel, polished internals, stoned trigger, recrowned, thicker recoil pad, and a mod charging handle. 6X24 Tasco mildot on top. This was shot from a homemade portable bench w a LeadSled.

Do you think we could keep the pictures at some size that doesn't take forever for those, like me, who are on dialup to download? About 640x480 seems to be right for a forum or bullitin board. Photobucket and most other hosting sites make this easy to do.

Mine is just as plain as an old boot. Stock out of the box except for a cheap 4x32 Bushnell, and a set of sling swivles and a $5.00 sling from Wal-mart. I don't have any pictures of any groups, but I used three shots this particular morning.

Here's mine:
LSS Premier
Removed remmy scope, added bushnell sportsman 3-9x32, weaver base, low mounts, rings, rock steady 9-13 bipod.
All internals are polished, and all tweakings are done.
Shoots smooth as glass!

At first I thought it pointless, but then what the hell. This will probably be the only photo in this thread of a new in the box 597, a Christmas present and first gun for my 16 y/o grandson. Hopefully a good reference for a before and after too.

I'm soo jealous! My first 597 was a camo .22 lr. I stupidly sold it about a year ago. Got it for a christmas gift from my parents when the camo stocked versions were first out. I later aquired the above LSS, but I sure do miss that camo model. Shot like a dream, even without any tweaks. Where did you purchase it, if you don't mind asking? I'd love to get another, brand new if I could find one.

Ok, here is mine fresh from the rack at Walmart. Front and rear sights removed and replaced with filler screws. A Leapers scope mounted on the factory rails with BKL mounts. A set of Uncle Mikes sling mounts and a nylon camo sling. For such a cheap scope, it seems to be working out pretty well. Its funny how the LED flash on a digital camera makes things look different. The camo sling almost matches the color of the stock perfectly, except in these pictures.

This is out of the SuperStock forum. It's a bit harder than it first seems. https://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums...d.php?t=130148

Well, it won't win any beauty awards...

...but I think it'll be a decent shooter. Another 100rnds cycled flawlessly...Comp is off my PacLite, I'll be consulting w/my gunsmith about a different one. Did I mention that it cycles flawlessly? Fed. AM @ 50yds.

My 597

Its a work in progress thing I guess. Its still rough around the edges. I got it when they first came out so it has old style clips and stuff. I have plans for it. I've only done this so far-

Removed on barrel sites
Painted stock
Installed Swivel studs
Simmons scope
soon-waiting on bipod and base scope mount

Still a little fitting and bedding to do but I had to see what the girls look like in their new Christmas outfits of 2008. !7HMR in the thumbhole.
Edit~Both guns have since been bedded.

It’s always interesting looking at gun pics. My 597 is stock standard and mounted with a 3-9x50 Leapers scope. The integral stop pin in the mount means I can get away with not having a weaver mount for all that tonnage.
