Match #1, Club match, NRA Air Rifle resettables, yards
Date: 11-4-18

My target rifle decided to start having problems during warm-up. I thought I could limp through the match but after the first 15 shots it was dead in the water. Switched over to my TX200 for the remainder, so no official Target Rifle score.

Round #2, Sporter Rifle:
Class: Master
Air Arms TX200 Mk-III
Weaver V-24 @ 24X
Air Arms Field Heavy (10.34) pellets

Chickens - 8
Pigs - 9
Turkeys - 5
Rams - 7
TOTAL - 29

Round #3, Open Rifle:
Class: AAA
TX200 again.

Chickens - 8
Pigs - 7
Turkeys - 7
Rams - 9
TOTAL - 31

It was rainy when we were setting up but it cleared out and became a beautiful day by the middle of the second match.

Front came through a couple of days ago so we were in the low 40's this morning. Did OK on the first match but wasn't fully in the zone. Second match was better, more locked in and fewer mistakes. I was really hoping for 8 Rams so I could get a Master score but it didn't work out. Still, I'm very happy with the 30.

Another shooter was trying to sight in his .308 for deer hunting this weekend. He was impressed that I could hit, let alone see, the steel animals. Glad I didn't embarrass myself.

TOTAL - 25

Match #2

Pigs - 8
Turkeys - 3
Rams - 9
TOTAL - 29

Target Rifle
Class: AAA
Anschutz 2002 SuperAir
JSB Diablo Exact RS (7.33) pellets
Weaver T-24

Match #1

Pigs - 8
Turkeys - 4
Rams - 5
TOTAL - 24

Match #2
Chickens - 7
Pigs - 7
Turkeys - 3
Rams - 8

The winds started to pick up in the first match of the morning and messed with everyone the rest of the day. Turkeys were not my friend at all and killed what could have been a personal best on the second Sporter match.

Tomorrow is Open Rifle and then awards so I'll post final scores then.

Day two of the State match.

Open Rifle
Class: Master
Air Arms TX200 Mk-III
Weaver V-24 @ 24X
Air Arms Field Heavy (10.34) pellets

Match #1
Chickens - 9
Pigs - 5
Turkeys - 6
Rams - 3
TOTAL - 23

Match #2
Chickens - 8
Pigs - 6
Turkeys - 7
Rams - 6
TOTAL - 27

Temps were in the 60's and the wind was less of a problem.

I kept taking good solid shots and hitting really high or low. Pigs and Rams on the first match were killing me because I couldn't understand what was going on. Not as bad the second match but I should have cleared the Pigs.

Smallbore club match next Saturday at the range south of town.

Really nice day to shoot; mid-60's, slightly overcast, and almost no wind. I was shepherding a co-worker through his first match so I was quite happy with how my scores turned out.
