Itís tough to find info on these.
Iíve found a brochure that says a 9 should have an adjustable stock.

I've never seen one of those but I'd like one. Those Norincos are generally very accurate. The JW-15 bolt actions are real sleepers. I have a JW-14 semi auto that looks like a military trainer. Nice rifle.

I have two of those Norinco JW-9. Both have JW-9/22cal.China marked on the barrel near the front sight. I think they were a very loose copy of a Brno ZKM 456 Lux Mi. Typical Norinco roughness but both are excellent shooters. Gary

I see the JW, 22cal and China marking but no actual "9"

Looking at my pictures, does your look like it?

Like I mentioned, I found a brochure that mantions JW-9 being an adjustable stock. Does that refer to the sling rail under the forearm?

Yes, both of mine look like yours. Your gun is missing the rear sight blade and the front sight. They were most likely removed when the scope was mounted. Very little information about this model, almost none. Yours is the only one that I have seen on RimfireCentral. Gary

Hi y'all, i purchased one of these new in box in 1980 exactly as the photo in the first post.As i recall it came with a cleaning rod, brush jag, oil bottle and a booklet marked Golden Arrow JW9. Cost at the time was $120 australian. On the top of the action was a bulleye with an arrow through it.Stock was oil finished but had plenty of meat on it an was remodelled a bit. Metalwork had machine marks that were smoothed out. I did restock it and used it with anschutz peep sights as a prone rifle and on the bench as a benchrest rifle.Sold it and the present owner will not part with it and no longer shoots. The original stock was also sold. I did see one advertised for sale last year at a gunshop near by but it did not last long. I saw an article in the Australian shooters journal in the 80's which stated that these rifles were used by workers in china for competitions between factories.Scott.

Interesting!

@jga Thank you for that post! Very interesting to have first-hand account.

It'd be cool if you could get a couple pics of your rifle from the fellow you sold it to. Just to see it.

Almost forgot to ask: Like I mentioned in my initial post, I found a factory(?) brouchure that states the JW-9 is an "adjustable stock". Do you believe this to be the sling anchor point on the fore end? Mine has a recessed slot with a metal rail that the sling mount is in. Or did yours have something different?

One goal I have it to find front and rear sights for this rifle.
