Hi

Can I ask what Bipod you did get.

I am new to guns and got given a 10/22 for a birthday present. I really want a bipod for it and have no idea which one to buy.

My gun is stock straight out of the shop (and they are great fun to shoot).

Thanks for any pointers

Paul

Hi Paul, welcome to the forum

I actually ditched the Amazon bipod, it was a POS lol I have a Harris bipod, 9-12" that I just move between rifles vs leaving it attached.

The bipod(s) I have attach to a sling swivel. The Ruger factory stock on a 10/22 doesn't have one. My rifle is in a Boyd's tactical stock which has 2 forward sling swivels.

You can either add a sling swivel to your stock, put your 10/22 in a different stock or not use a bipod and shoot off a bag, or rest. There are probably other choices too lol

Good luck and have fun!

Or (drum roll pls) shoot off-hand
I have the low, bench or prone style cheap one now, had a tall (too tall) Harris years ago, and the new one is good enough to try out the concept for me. But it aint magic, there is a learning curve to use one effectively. Certainly is lighter than hauling bags to the bench, though.
It is all fun to try out
