Newbie with thanks and a question...

For Christmas, when I was a not so strapping youth, my parents (I mean Santa)bought me and my brother Glenfield Model 25s. Quite a few years passed and I kinda forgot about my old .22. For my birthday this year, my brother remembered to give me my .22. He was "holding" it for me.

While searching for some information about the rifle, I stumbled across this forum. I have read every thread about the Glenfield 25, well, all the bolt Marlin threads, and have learned quite a bit, but haven't seen or read anything about this.

To the left (on the barrel) as you look at the serial number, there is a stamp with a circle and what appears to be the initials "JM". Once I figure out how to post a pic I will try unless you "gurus" can enlighten me on this.

Thanks again for all the wonderful information.
