Tech1....he didn't claim "all day long".

Just said it would produce 5 shot groups under 1 inch at 100 yards.
I've had that happen too...just not predictable when it'll occur, eh?
Gotta love those random acts of accuracy.

I noticed automatch had poor ignition in cold weather, like below 10 degrees F. This was the winter before last so I use it in warm weather only since noticing it.

Just to put things in perspective about my 10/22 Federal auto match post. I shoot an Anschutz 1911, heavy barrel 54 super match, and it will only shoot under 1” groups with old Federal ultra match Ammo. Certainly all my 10/22 groups are not under 1” but they are if I do my part and there is no wind.

I've been shooting Fed. Auto March for years, and I've always found it to be quite adequate. Normally shoots <. 5" at 50 yards, but occasional fliers will disappoint. This week shot .375 group while just fooling around at the range. It isn't as good as SK+, but I'll keep buying it when available.

Automatch, not so great

My Ruger 22/45 does not like Automatch. It fires but frequently fails to eject. Accuracy is ok but having a single shot semi-auto is not so great. I keep my guns clean, so that is not the issue. No serious issue, since these have nothing to do with my ECD, but it's still a PITA to have to cycle the bolt manually.

Who would have thunk? My mark 2 shoots federal auto match with perfect reliability. And I run it dirty in my bullseye matches. I basically donít clean it for four months.

Sounds like some home gunsmithing is needed to tune your pistol. It can shoot like the more refined ones then.

Stopped by the range yesterday tŰ follow-up on my previous comment on Fed. Auto match, and shot another good one. This time in the .2s. Good stuff.

Is that what most people have experienced?
Federal Auto Match shoots well in all my semi auto rifles and pistols including my 10/22.

I also found one at Walmart on Wednesday. Same price ($17.73 + tax), but different lot number. Mine was F108P03. They only had one left when I got there. It's not the best ammo for target shooting, but there are a lot worse varieties out there for lots more $$$.

I have had good luck with it in my semi's like my 10/22's and my SR22, and it works pretty well in the LCP II, and I love it in bolt guns.

I just found a local walmart that had it back in stock at $18 a box, and bought my limit of 3 boxes. I am going back to see if they have more. I love that stuff.

All Federal ammo causes occasional stovepipes in my 10/22, which is a shame because it shoots automatch pretty accurately.

I replaced the extractor with a volquartsen which has almost fixed the issue - I still see a stovepipe every 200-300 rounds, more frequently with higher end Fed like 711B or 719.

This would be something I might worry about if 711B was cheaper than cci-sv because they are both about equal accuracy-wise. Or if I could find 711B for sale
