Enough Stuff

Fortunately I do have enough to last me . I have bought ammunition and reloading components over the last 40 years when they were on sale whether I needed them or not thinking some day there's going to be a bad political climate and we'll be in trouble and now it's here .

never enough. I buy a few boxes at a time when I see it at somewhat normal prices. 3 boxes of Federal Auto Match last week for under $19 a box, at my local walmart... going back this week to check again because they had close to 50 boxes.

I probably have 30,000 rounds of .22lr, but I have been burning through some of the older bulk stuff because it has been giving me mixed results with duds, and light loads. Winchester White box that is.

Other calibers I have been ok on for a while, stuff I don;t shoot a lot like 30-30, 450 Bushmaster, and .308 I have a few hundred rounds of each, and 7.62x39 and 7.62x54R I have maybe 3500 rounds each, .223/5.56, a few thousand rounds, shotgun shells... a lot...

I've slowed down my buying here lately. I've been seeing it in large numbersat academy and even bough some at walmart a couple times. the ammo limit is rising at academy and this past weekend they had lots of .22 ammo. I bought 4 boxes of winchester silvertip .22 and then jumped on federals website to check availability of the new .22 punch ammo...I ordered two boxes to try them out.

Funny how it works

I definitely don't have enough ammo - oh I'm not out but the twisty brain thinks that I better not shoot because I'm almost out - maybe 500 rounds all together but that includes CB caps and sub-sonic. This is at odds with reality since I shoot mostly single shot and only have a range an hour at a time. I do, however have a box of Krag which will last - nothing that will shoot it! Long story...

Someone once asked Rockefeller,,,

Someone once asked Rockefeller,,,
"Just how much money do you need?"

His reply was,,,
"Just a little bit more."

I feel the same way about .22 LR ammo,,,
Ya just can't have too much of it.

rimfire ammo is the one thing I own,,,
That I'm certain I could liquidate quickly if I needed cash.

Lucky to get a few of these before the 2nd shortage hit.

Fellow at the store said this was the best 22lr ammo he had in stock.

All the stores around here have various brands of 22 ammo for $80-$90/brick.

From watching the ammo search sites, the bottom is falling out of the market.
Bulk ammo that was 40 cents a cartridge is back down to 8 cents.
Another month or two and it looks like the hoarders will have enough stocked up
to finish off the sellers market. Demand is slacking off.

Bout time. You gonna start testing more boxes @ 200yds again? Al curiously wondered to himself.

Al, that would seem to be a distinct possibility.

Active squirrels are depleting my 17 hm2 and 17 hmr stocks but the good news is there is enough to last a few more years without a resupply.
