Victorinox Mauser Swiss Army Knife

I have a question that I know one of you guys will be able to help me with.
I have discovered, in my knife drawer, one of the knives like in the title above. It is in it's original box, new and never used with all of the original paperwork.
I have done a lot of research and what I have found is that it is quite valuable. I am positive it is the real thing, All of the markings, features, etc. on the box, knife and paperwork are the same as I find on the internet.
I am thinking of selling it and getting something I could use but am wondering if the prices I see are realistic. The prices I see range from $150.00 for a nice used one with box etc. to several hundred for the perfect ones like mine.
I am hoping one of you knows something that needs to be known before trying to sell--or possible keep!
I haven't taken any pics of it yet, but will have some tomorrow.
Hopefully I can post some good pics of the German words etc. on the box and the knife.

Thanks for your help,
Ken

I've seen those in the past as well for the prices you mention. The AAPK web site has one listed by Muskrat Man Knives for $125 plus s&h, if you would like to compare yours to it. They are collectible and do bring in the prices you mention.

I hope this helps

j.r , thanks for your reply. I had seen the one in the AAPK website and that is one of the few I could find. His includes the box etc. and overall is in good cond--used!
I know mine has never been used and is in new condition. I am just guessing mine would possibly worth a little more. If anybody is looking for one of course.
I am going to get some good pics of it taken today and then decide what I want to do with it.
Thanks a lot j.r. I appreciate your efforts

Ken

Put it on an auction site starting low, but with a reserve you are willing to take. It seems to me the low start ones get more bites than those that start more at 'worth' but get no bids.

You are welcome kennymauser - I never miss an opportunity to do a little knife 'sleuthing', its a 'box of chocolates' (Forrest Gump movie reference) with big surprises.

The more I look at this knife, I realize that I have had it for at least ten years, and forgot all about it, so it's going to have to go. There are other things I am wanting so I can put them away for years and forget I have them!
I will probably post it tomorrow or tonight!

I'm glad you sold it . . .

and Thank you for the photos of it - it appears to be in outstanding condition. You obviously took good care of it. The box is immaculate.

Yes I did sell it, not quite a much as I was asking, but I am happy!
Now I need to keep rounding up more of my forgotten knives etc. and try not to buy or trade for any more. Well not too many!
Also talking knives with you guys on this forum is enjoyable.
Thanks for your replies and info.
