Thinking of getting a SS in .17hmr, anyone have any experience with them. How is accuracy.

I don't have one!
Shooting Times magazine had a favorable article By Dick Metcalf.
It was the September 2003 issue.
I could not find it online, but the magazine is still available on Ebay.
Velocities were about 2000 fps from the 6.5" barrel.

Late post, I have one in stainless, it shoots real good, and hot. Works well on varmints. One quick warning tho, it hurts the ears bad. Loud cracks will send you screaming. It is hard to walk around rhe woods with 33 db ear muffs.

I may be getting one in a trade soon. From what I've read is they are best used with earplugs forsure. Good hunting gun but mainly from a bench which I do allot over gopher fields.

I have one I carry in the prarie dog fields for rattlesnakes that like to crawl in the holes. You deffenately want to use ear plugs with them.

It’s a neat little gun and as accurate if not more so than my .22/.22mag version. Pricier to shoot though, so not as versatile of a plinker.
