Looking for a replacement stock to shoot rimfire silhouette, arthritis in wrist makes shooting hunting type stock uncomfortably, thinking about boyds spike campÖ wondering about fit and screw alignment and works good

Are you going to sell the 452 American stock? I’m needing a 452 American standard barrel stock as I just purchased a 452 and the stock got cracked in shipping

I've had several Boyd's stocks, both rimfire and centerfire. I've never had to do any fitting of them to the actions, all were drop-in. Very good quality overall.

I will only say that a prominent gunsmith I know refuses to work with a Richard's Microfit stock as they take more work than most are willing to pay for.

I will agree with that, especially for our 452s, which are 96% inletted. It takes some work to get the action fit. the outer body needs final shaping, and that is also a fair amount of work. However, the results, if not hurried, are usually quite spectacular.

I will also add that their customer service has dropped off in the last decade or so. The last time I wanted a stock from them I got frustrated enough with the woman on the other end of the phone that I decided against using them. that was a shame as they send out very good to excellent wood for the price.

Still, they are an option if you like nice wood ad a fair price and have the ability to do some fitting and shaping and finishing.

By the way, my 452 is their template. It's hard to believe that it has been 17 years since I sent it to them.

They do have some very nice wood but you need skill and patience and most folks aren't willing to pay for the time it takes a gunsmith to finish them out, on the other hand he's fit two stocks from Gunville for me, both made for Brno M1's. One Maple w/cheek piece on a Brno M1 and a Chinese Cherry on a CZ 452 Trainer using Brno bottom metal.

Gunsmith was very pleased with these as received and they finished up great.

My apologies as I just asked if he was going to sell. I wasn’t offering. Had he said yes I would have asked him to PM me.

What is it with stocks getting broke in shipping. I purchased a 452 Grand Finale from a guy on the forum, cannot remember his name, but his stock had been broken. He sold me the barrel and everything and shipped the broken stock with it. Couple weeks ago I thought I would tinker with it and see what I could do instead of throwing it away. Just about got it finished.
