I have a friend who won the indoor national A line a few years ago. He also shot somewhere north of ten 2500s that year. He would definitely disagree. He had some ammo that would not shoot unless the temperature was around 65. We would shoot two six card matches back to back.
Starting in the morning it could be in the 30 degree range. This ammo would shoot around 2250 in the morning. In the afternoon as the temperature reached mid sixties the same ammo would agg. upper 2300 to 2400. I watched this happen many times. Kind of hard to explain being as how this guy does not move his tuner.
What is your opinion as to why this happened if the ammo is not temperature sensitive?

We all shoot in conditions. Test tunnels have conditions, indoor ranges have conditions, outdoors has conditions. Changes in conditions will change results. If you have changes in temperature at different times of the year or even during a match and think nothing else affecting your results has changed then good luck.

First off congratulations on your shooting this year Mr. John. If you donít mind me asking, what other conditions are you referring to? If it makes a difference I am asking about indoor shooting not outdoors where conditions can change dramatically.

I don't have any answers just lots of questions. Here's a good example....If your ammo is shooting differently has the ammo itself changed or have those things that affect performance changed? I like to think of your rifle and your ammo as fairly static items immersed in a sea of changing conditions. The better your rifle and your ammo the less effect those conditions will have on your performance.

Thanks. On that we do agree. The better your equipment and ammo the less you will be effected. Good luck on continuing your good shooting.

The outdoor target I did not make any scope adjustments. if I ever make an adjustment on the scope. it is usually after I am sure the setting will keep shots center or right of center. I learned never make adjustments for shots left, the tuner will adjust for that.

The rifle in the picture has not had the turner adjusted since 2015 or 2016 it is at 90 and has been for every lot I have tested since it was set. and no scope adjustments are needed.
es? not sure what you are asking. wait es box speed? #1117 =329mps so 1079 my best lot is 326 -1069 the rifles can shoot both with no adjustments of any kind.

Lee, wanted to know outdoors, your answer is what I expected. marty

sure they do, it's all about timing, with an exception, if your tuned with a lite tuner and those conditions aren't really, really severe your always in tune. marty

Good to hear. It's heartening to know they are answering the phone again.

Let us know how it shoots outdoors, good luck.

If you think you might go back after your initial appointment, even if it’s months in the future go ahead and schedule your next appointment while you’re there. That’s what I did in April. My next appointment is in early September. I’ll probably schedule another while I’m there again.
