That looks great! I've never seen walnut with grain like curly maple.

Nice work!

That looks very good. Are you planning to checker part of it? (myself, I would not want to cover up that pretty wood grain with checkering)

I don’t do checkering. My eyes are not the best for doing tedious work like that. I kinda wish I tried it back when I could see better. Doc says I have a cataract. I’m 74, that’s probably par for my age.

After viewing the photos from the wipe down with mineral spirits, I can't wait to see it after the finish is applied. It is going to be another beauty!

I'm not completely finished with the stock, but decided to go ahead and post some pictures of what it's gonna look like. I think this is one of the nicest stocks I've built. Getting pictures of the figure in the wood was quite a challenge.

Thanks for the comments guys. What do you think about the new shape in the receiver area. I think it gives the 10/22 a heavy duty, centerfire action look.

I agree. More solid, heavy duty look. Something that will be around for awhile. Almost a timeless feel about it.
