i use paint shop pro, i did sharpen them a touch, anymore and they
started getting grainier. he's good on stocks but as a photographer
he could use some lessons, or a better camera.

you're right they do have a pinkish tint to them, especially on the edges.

Tom
Thanks for posting those. Computers and cameras are not my thing.
The top two are the 2013 Anschutz in curly white oak. Probably look better when it gets some real finish. It just has a coat of shellac sealer on it now. This one will be an experiment. Benchmark is making me a sporter contour barrel for it. It will be reverse taper with the back bored knob on the muzzle end. Sporter scores have gotten so good with that design AND NO TUNER. The easily changed barrel on the 2013 made it a good candidate for the experiment. The other rifle is one of my Suhls in Australian lacewood. The forearm is stepped to let it set lower in the front rest. Neither of these two woods is readily available right now
The red blanket behind them probably introduced the Derek pink to the pictures

I am definitely a man that prefers stocks with quality wood, but there is something about that white-gray-black marble fade that makes me feel all funny inside.

thanks for the picture posting lessons. I had identified them on photobucket, but apparently that info does not transfer.
The top one is my Hall 10 1/2 pound rifle in one of my Wedge pattern stocks, made with a walnut/ maple laminate. Probably my prettiest benchrest rifle.
The other is a 54 Anschutz in one of my 250 pattern stocks in boxelder. Wish I could find some more boxelder like that.
