Lisa

Thank you for the photo.

Some of my confusion was because on this thread (post #71), it states that the highest score is a 250, not a 200. It also seems to have different dimensions for the ABRA target.
https://www.rimfirecentral.com/forum....php?t=1156803

Also on the score sheet it seems that you get extra points for an X.
Agg vs Agg +.
Is that correct?

Anyway it looks like you all had a fun match.

We shoot a monthly USBR match shooting 2 targets per match for a year end total of 24.
We take your top 16 for year end honors.
That allows shooters to miss 4 months for vacations, sports, weddings, illnesses, or whatever, you get the point.

Thanks again,

Smooth

Smooth,
The link you provided is actually this thread.

ABRA is 20 bulls, max value 10 points each, no X's, no extra points. Now some small ( non sanctioned ) clubs use targets from ARA, IR and ABRA and put their on spin on the scoring. One club in Virginia has their own target called 275, 25 bulls on which it scores as 10 max points per, plus one extra point if the X dot is taken completely out, resulting in a max score of 275. It will let you catch up if you have a bad shot or two. It too is a red target.

A few years ago when Joe Chacon started ABRA there was a discussion on the RimfireAccuracy forum concerning the difficulty of his new target as compared to a few others.

Because I have a great deal of curiosity and some expertise in designing as well as analyzing shot distributions on target, I asked him to send me a regulation target. I told him I'd scan the target in high resolution, make the measurements, and provide the comparison.

The results are below using a screenshot of one of my Excel Scattershot Charts for some visual perspective.
And, courtesy of Joe Haller from quite a few years ago, some of the math needed for 3 popular targets. I'm lazy and it was easier to rob Joe's graphic rather than making my own. LOL

Landy

For example: The ARA 100-ring is exactly 1/2" (0.500") in diameter and scored worst edge. That means the C-T-C measurement for 25 shots on target can't exceed 0.276" or it's a 50.

This is what I thought I'd posted.

ABRA Boerne Results 04.23.2019

ABRA Boerne Results 04.23.2019

Well 9 of the Boerne Tuesday Night Wrangler ABRA boys and girls rode their horses in for another fun filed, and in some cases head banging, advantage. Everyone had their eyes on the weather, and yes, we got some rain, but nothing us ole cowhands couldn’t handle. We had a good showing for the new outlaw bolt class with 6 wranglers dividing up the action with 3 riding Outlaw Heavy Barrel and 3 saddling up Outlaw Light Barrel. Old man Joe Chacon took home the bacon in heavy barrel shooting his fancy CZ 452 into the winner’s circle with a 196.5 agg. He also had high card with a 197.
Cowgirl Josie Hensler wasn’t far behind with a 194agg.
Hubert Kelsheimer, Mr. Denny’s is the eggs and waffles ready yet, was close on their heels with a 193.5 agg.

Mr. James Braddy decided to take the Outlaw Light Barrel by the horns and won with a 183.5 agg.
Cowhand Leon Kuznik decided to grab that bull by the tail and wasn’t far behind, no bun intended with a 182.5 agg.
That left Cowboy Bob Beckett, riding his new Remington 40X, to finished up the field with a 179 agg.

Now us traditional cowhands, Lisa, Les and Allen mounted up our Unlimited Semi-Auto’s to fill out the show.
When the dust had settled Lisa Chacon and I, Les Williams, were tied with a 193.5 agg. Using our tie breaking showdown of who’s best with a bowie knife, well let’s just leave it with Lisa was crowned as the top rider for the unlimited show.
Ole Allen Taylor got off to a slow night on his first bull out of the chute and was sent into orbit. He came back in style with a nice 197 ride for a 190.5 agg.

It was definitely a lot of fun and of course good ole horseplay was in full force. Until next time everyone stay straight in those saddles and see you at the next rodeo.

Les Williams

ABRA San Angelo results 04.27.209

We had a windy San Angelo match today, but still had some decent scores. The wind seemed to accelerate on the 4th target and it reflects pretty much that way with most of the scores.
The Senior Outlaw Heavy Barrel was won by Bill Middlebrook with a 189 agg; he had the high 1st; 2nd & 4th targets and the high for the day for that class with a 193 on the 1st target. Jim Swaringin placed 2nd and had the high 3rd target with a 188. Tom Cunningham was 3rd followed by Zack Turner who is handicapped without a tuner.
Paul Dyer took 1st place in the Senior Unlimited class with a 191.25 agg and he had the 2nd; 3rd & 4th target. Darren Krumwiede took the high in that class for the day on the 1st target with a 195, as well as losing the tie with Paul Dyer with a 191 on the 2nd target; placing 2nd in the overall standing for the day. Allen Taylor had the worst luck today and even after swapping rifles he had to struggle and placed 3rd for the day.
Ron Herring took 1st place in Senior Factory with a consistent 180 agg and had the high for the day on the 4th target with a 181. He took all the high cards for that class. Jerry Willeford was 2nd; David Strother was 3rd; Carolyn Wilson was 4th and John Pormann placed 5th.
The next match is in 2 weeks at the same place.
See you at the range,
Ronald Herring
