SR22 breech rough cast?

Is the roughness on the upper left of this SR22 breech pictured here normal?
I've been hunting down stovepiping and light strikes on the wife's SR22 and
I noticed the roughness in the breech casting and did not know if that is a
normal occurance on the SR22.
I have run a variey of Lapua Center-X, Midas Plus & Pistol King, SK Pistol Match & Standard Plus, Remington Thunderbolt, Aguila Super Extra, Eley Tenex, CCI Standard Velocity, ammo through it and I have foung the only time this pistol runs good is when I run CCI Mini-Mag 40gr through it.

I had a reason to have my SR22 out so I looked at it. Mine does not show the roughness your does but I can see no reason for that to contribute to your problems. I have no problems with mine as long as the ammo isn't a dud and I use HV ammo. It will not function reliably with any brand of SV ammo. I have shot mini-mags, golden bullets, Aguila HV, blaser, and some auto-match in it. The newer Winchester super x gives me failures to fire but it does in every single 22 I try to shoot it in.

Yup. Mine loved the AutoMatch 333 stuff. Why it should be different from the 555 I just don't know, but it is.

My SR22 has a bit of a rough cast in the same location as yours. My SR22 shoots well with most ammo I have in stock without fail. Good luck with yours.
I prefer Mini-Mags but the following finds it's way down range for me.
CCI 22LR AR Tactical CPRN 40gr. fps 1200
CCI MINI MAG 22LR CPRN 40gr. fps 1235
CCI MINI MAG 22LR CPHP 36gr. fps 1260
Blazer 22LR 38gr. 1235fps. LRN
Blazer 22LR 40gr LRN 1255fps
Remington Golden Bullet 22LR 40gr. 1255fps. Plated RN

I think that the rough finish at the top of the barrel end is caused by the steel insert in the slide crashing against the barrel end. Not anything to worry about.
My gun fires hollow point mini mags effectively! My gun did have a feed ramp divot which I stoned out, no problems now.
