Pic of the huge top-heavy poorly balanced Vortex 4.5-27X56 Razor.
Back to the parts drawer, it goes.

...have yet to see any groups!!!

just sayin. ha.

I really like it. Have you competed with it yet?
Have you shot it next to any precision bolt rifles? more to my point have you noticed a longer "lock time" or finicky things shooting a semi over a bolt?

have you played with the tuner? good investment or ...??

nice rifle!

Didn't spare any expense on this one. Joe's rifles speak for themselves as far as being accurate. I'm sure this one is no different. Great choice with the Trijicon scope IMO.

D Tros, Unfortunately, I haven't shot it in a bit over 6 weeks.
I shot some meaningless 25yd groups that were one hole but that means nothing for a Chacon rifle.
No, haven't shot it against any other rifles yet.
Will probably get my own Vudoo to shoot it against next year or, if Curtis brings out a better rifle, I will get that one.

I have been deer hunting and haven't had the time to shoot it.
Now, the temperature is 17 degrees in my area and way too cold for me.
I'm gonna shoot it next week as the temps will be in the 50's.
Hope to shoot some 50 and 100 yd groups next week and will post them if I do.

Have to give a shout out to NightForce optics as I ordered my lost ring screw from them on Monday and it and a few extras showed up today free of charge.

Took my new Chacon build along with my Ruger competition model with its new 2 stage KIDD trigger to the range today.

The KIDD triggers on both rifles are superb; they will spoil you for anything else.
Was going to shoot them against each other and post some groups.

Unfortunately, the sun was so bright, I couldnít get the reticles adjusted properly on either scope and just couldnít see the dot on the Trijicon or the crosshair on the Vortex well enough to shoot any decent groups with.

The Chacon rifle is huge and dwarfs the Ruger.
Hereís a couple of poor pics in the bright ☀️ sun.

My newest addition to this rifle is Joe Updike’s billet vertical grip.
With this grip, you can feel every bit of movement in the KIDD 2 stage trigger.
It looks kind of funky to borrow Joe’s description of the grip but it feels fantastic and enhances your ability to shoot better groups.

Did Joe C thread the barrel to the receiver or is it a slip-fit?

Looking forward to the first target results.

It's a slip fit.
Just got Joe's official bench-rest targets that I plan to use next time at the range.

Plan on getting a Vudoo action in the future and sending it to Joe to have either a Shilen or Douglas barrel with his tuner installed on it.
Or might go with the new Curtis action instead.

Such a tease!

What is the purpose of the vertical piece hanging down that is just forward of the magazine well?
