I had a chance to get a like new one about 10 years ago. I wish I had.

That one had some bluing loss, but it is a nice revolver.

they are indeed a very nice revolver but I personally cannot shoot mine as well as I do my Smith Masterpiece. I have fat little hands and the smaller size of the Smith fits me better.

Didn't know they made one in .22 mag though.

I like the grip on my 1948 Officers Model Target over the 1959 Officers Model Match too, it's a smaller grip that fits my hand better. I wouldn't mind a .22 mag addition to the collection, but I doubt I will bid.

I fitted mine with a smaller set of grips but it still feels much different than the Smith. It feels a little front heavy, with the smaller grips, and not near as well balanced as the Smith.

Smile Colt Officers Model Match

I don't have one in .22 mag, but thoroughly enjoy my OMM in .22 LR, and it is quite accurate, more accurate than my twenty year newer Smith and Wesson Model 17- which certainly has a nice trigger. But that old vintage 1965 Colt is accurate and a ball to shoot.

Here are a couple my favorite colt revolvers a Colt match target and a Colt officers model target. Getting harder to find and more dollars for very clean examples.

Tim,

I bought a Colt .357 Model used in 1958. It came with the exact same grips as your pistol.
There is no identification of the maker on mine. Do you know who made those on your pistol

They look like Walter Roper stocks.
Look on the back of each panel for a couple of small rectangular jig mounting holes, a tell-tale sign.

Yup, they are old original Ropers. It came with full-checkered Colt target grips, which I have put away safely! In my younger days, this revolver accounted for a bunch of woodchucks when I was still hunting them.
I haven't fired it in years, but it will be a fine legacy for my kids and grandkids!

Beautiful pistol. Cant beat the old Colt quality and finish. Real American craftsmanship.
