I did quite a lot of research looking for places that will inlet Model 54 and 64 Anschutz actions. Some inlet 54, others 64 and a very few do both. Here is the list I have come up with so far. I will add more once I have located them. Hopefully this will become a sticky so others don't have to do as much hunting for this information.

The below makers all make one or the other of, left shooter, right action, left shooter, left action and right hand versions.

Stock Interchangeability information

1710, 1712, 1720 and 1730 interchange

From Camster - Dean, all 1700 series stocks will interchange, provided that they are for the same style of safety and the same barrel contour. Standard barrel channels will need to be opened up for heavy barrels. Some early side safety guns use the same basic stock pattern as the earlier wing safety stocks, so they will work with wing safety action stocks. Later side safety stocks will not work with the wing safety action stocks unless a channel is cut on the right side to accommodate the side safety mechanism.

1727 22 RF and the 1827 Biathlon and 1927 fast fire stocks interchange. You can also put the action in any 1900 single shot stock but the magazine well and front recoil lug (1727 action only) will need to be inlet and the stock adjusted for the Fortner bolt and safety.

The 54.18 and the 54.18 MSR will fit into any 1900 series stock as long as you inlet the magazine for the MSR.

1700 Match 54 Repeater vs. Match 54 Single Shot ( 1900 Series) Action Design From Anschutz Site Technical Questions

We get this question a lot about if a 1700 series will fit in a Match 54 stock from a 1900 series, or if a 1900 series can be fit into a 1710 or 1712 stock. The short answer is no; they are different.

With both actions stripped of triggers, they give the initial impression that you can. They are very similar in length and the same OD, but there are two very critical details which prevent this.

To help show this, here are a few photos below. The screws threaded into the action show where the action screws are located.

The 5018 trigger mounted on the 1913 sits much further back on the action, very close to the end of the tang. To fit this in a Sporter stock ( 1700 series ) requires considerable wood removal. Most Sporter stocks will not allow this and become too weak in that area.

This may also help the question about swapping triggers between these models; it cannot be done. The photos below show why.

Will an 1807 barreled action fit a 1413 or 1411 stock?

From Thomasconnor You'll have to inlet for the trigger. A bit to the rear and a lot for the side safety, which if removed requires much less work. The lower stock below has been inlet for 18XX and 19XX actions...Tom

All model 64 repeaters prior to 2009 interchange. All single shot 64 actions interchange before 2009. You can tell the larger 26MM action predominantely by the largge black plastic bolt handle and scallops on the top of the action. You can Devcon the larger stock to accept the smaller, earlier 64 action.

After 2009 the action is slightly larger in diameter, 26mm. 1415/1417/1516/1617 and MPR all interchange with exception of barrel diameter.

This one, I have a chassis from MDT for my Tikka T3 6,5X55, very nice system.

Personally, I would have preferred it if they would have made the .22 systems based on the HS3 center fire version, it offers a full length front end and makes the gun much more versatile than the stubby one, now on offer. :)

Unfindable stock

Thank you Dean2 for all the places to find stocks for my Savage - Anschuts match 64. The only one that would make a stock for me was McMillen, all the others just gave me a flat NO. McMillen was very good and reached out to help me all they could. I talked to a worker by the name of Max and he even asked me to send the action and barrel to be sure it fit correctly. Great customer service. Again Thanks for all the resources.:bthumb:

Light weight benchrest stock for Anschütz 54 Match.

Just received a new -to me- Anschütz 54 Match built in 1979. The rifle is in mint condition and the stock came with all the attachments.

I will be using it primarily for IR 50/50 22 Benchrest competition and I wish to replace the OE stock with a high quality stock, wood or aluminium whatever is lighter.

How much weight can be saved and who makes the best?

The aluminium Anschütz 1918 Precise Stock does fit the 54 Match action but it is not intended for Benchrest.

Will the Anschütz 2013-BR-50 stock fit my rifle or am I better off with an aftermarket custom offering?

Thanks.

A 2013 BR50 stock will not fit your 1400 series action.

Zorrow's Stocks

Here's a close-up of a stock Zorrow did for my wife's 1907. Yes, he does phenomenal work.... Next to a Trident, one of my favorite rifles to shoot. Zorrow ensures the stock is built completely as you wish followed up with many phone calls, photos, and in-progress reports. They aren't cheap, but you're buying heirloom quality work.

Somehow calling it a "rather severe installation process" seems to be an understatement.

There may be a few shooters, but not many, who will be tempted to use a new barreled action in this chassis system. Perhaps using
an older 16xx or 18xx barreled action with this nearly permanent installation might render any indifferent performance less regretable.

GotXring is owned by Gary Eliseo, he is a shooter, and is in some of the pictures on the website. These stocks are custom made after you order them. So once the bugs are worked out of a design and the CNC programming done waiting on an order is no big deal. He was working on a floated action design for center fire too. I had a chassis made for Remington 700 years ago, spent months on the wait list to have it made.

I've got my 1710D HB in an XLR chassis. I only shoot this rifle for groups off of a rest, and this stock works well for that with a Sinclair bench rest adapter (not shown in this picture) up front that mounts directly to the Anschutz rail milled into the forend.

Your action is a model 54, his is a 64. It would take a tremendous amount of work to modify a 54 inlet to accept a 64 action unless XLR also makes a chassis for the 64. A 54 inlet can be modified, but you need to be good at stock work.

Thanks for making this thread. Just got a 64R target sport. Not liking the sloped forend.
The sloped fore-end is a feature borrowed from the 1903 (and before that the 1803 and later 1403 iterations of the Match 64). It's intended for position shooting; the idea is the deep end is for standing, and the shallower front end is for prone/Kneeling. In practise it's often both too shallow and too deep at the same time.

I am glad that it continues to be of assistance. It was quite a bit of work to do initially and a bit of work to keep it up, but there really is no other central place to find all of this information. It really is the great thing about enthusiast Forums, prior to the net, a guy would have never found all this info.
