Got my new toy put together, a 455 American.

Thanks to DavePat and JAIA (from the other rimfire newsgroup); otherwise, I couldn't have even attempted this.

•Firing pin spring, trigger spring, mag well and mag release lever from DI Products.
•Centra front & rear sights from Sinclair International
•Lilja 23 in. varmint taper (yes, 23 in.; Dan Lilja still had a couple 23 inchers when I ordered mine
•2 in x .75 in. sleeve kindly made for me by Mark Penrod, Penrod Precision (so I could clamp on the Centra)
•rear aperture & extension tube from Champion's Choice
•front aperture from InterShoot

Lord willing, I'll get a chance to sight it in today (it's kuld up here in Veesconsin!)

(Maybe my UL Lux will be less lonely now? ;-)

Nice looking setup. Those Lilja's turn the 455 into one heck of a tack driver! Does yours have the standard lilja match chamber or did you opt for the EPS match chamber?

Great looking set up. BUT, it will not be able to be sighted in until the bolt is available.

I sneaked out for about an hour to the range today. 50 degree temp, heavy mist and fog= crappy. Put a target up at 25 yds. to sight in; by the 3rd round, I was hitting center. (Well that was quick.) I took some 4 in. targets out to 50 yds. and fired off a few dozen more rounds. Two of my 5-shot groups could be covered with a 50-cent piece and another 2 were quarter-size for 4 shots. I seemed to consistently get a flier (can I blame it on the guy a couple benches down who seemed to fire off his black powder rifle aways a split second before my shot)?

I used Wolf MT today; the chamber is so tight on the Lilja I was afraid I'd get a Wildcat case stuck. No problems with the Wolf.

Next time I'll try it with a .5 diopter/eagle eye installed. I've got a 4.0mm front aperture on right now; perhaps some day I'll try a 3mm (no urge at present to use an adjustable front aperture.)

BTW, the barrel fit the stock perfectly. Did the dollar bill test & it seems to be fully floating. I've gotten so used to the 452 UL that it felt like I was shooting a carbine. I'm learning to shoot left-handed (only 1 good eye). Sometime or other I'll get a 25x or 32x Mueller on it now that Warne makes quick-detach rings for the 11mm rail and once again shoot right-handed, but heck; peeps are way too much fun. If you haven't tried a set of Denny's BRNO sights, you don't know what you're missing!
