102 Citation & 103 Tournament

Just finished field stripping and cleaning my 102 citation and 103 tournament.
Iíll often look at this as an impending chore, but once I get involved I Get lost in the task and marvel at the quality and simplicity of the design.
Just stumbled into High Standards about 15 years ago because my brother had one 50 years ago.
Also have an early Supermatic, a 107 Citation, And a late 70s Smith 41.
Life is pretty good, Kevin

Right you are, KG. It seems many of the fine old guns of yesteryear were far simpler to take down and clean. My Sport King 103 & Medalist/C-II are typical examples.

But there is one more that is a design marvel that should be added in my opinion. The Whitney .22 semi auto. It was designed by a fellow who worked for HS back in the '40s. He and another fellow went out on their own to build a new firearm. For various reasons they failed in the end with only a little over 13K made.

If you haven't seen one before, remove one nut held in place by a detent, on the end of the barrel and the whole action, barrel and all, slides right out of the rear of the frame.

Which reminds me, I need to get it out and exercise it!
