The 10 round Savage mags have more curve than Anschutz mags. That curve doesn't matter on the sporter, short mag. housing rifles, but if you have a deeper belly stock that has the extended mag housing, the front of the Savage mag hits the mag housing before the mag is all the way up in place. This info is for a 1427 Biathlon, not sure if the Fortners use the same mag. housings as regular 54s.
As long as it is in a sporter stock any will do. If it is in a CISM or other specialty stock, it may require a 10 round mag (5 round magazines get stuck in the CISM stock)
