If you own one in 223 or 204, or know the answer will you please let me know.

I am assuming it is approx 0.98" diameter at the breach. From there does it taper straight down? To what diameter at the muzzle?

Thanks.

My CZ527 Varmint in .223 Rem (24", 1:9", S/N B464xxx with test sheet dated 6/12/2014) measures 0.716" at the crown (average of three measurements). Sliding a straight-edge along the barrel tells me that the taper is linear. I cannot measure the breech end without removing the stock.

I've had a handful of CZ 527 Varmint models in a variety of cartridges. They all were newer production years and had the same contour except the one I had that was a 17 Remington. The CZ 527 Varmint 17 Rem I had was a little older than my others and though it too was their Varmint model the contour on that 17 Rem was a little larger. It wasn't a lot but if it was laying next to any of the others it was definitely noticeable. Even the bluing on that 17 Rem was a little different looking.

I have a 527 Euro Varmint in 223. It has a 25.6" barrel that tapers from aprox .98 at the breech to .750 in about two inches. It is then .750 all the way to the muzzle. It has been accurate, wish I could shoot it more. As I remember they offered the same model in 222 Remington.

First off CZ has offered two barrel length on the 527 Varmint models, a 24 inch and a 25.6 inch (European) barrel in both the 223 Remington and the 204 Ruger chamberings. On my 2014 Varmint in 223 Remington with a 24 inch barrel the muzzle has a diameter of .698 inch. I had trouble getting a good measurement on the breech end, closest I could come was .975 inch. But again not a good measurement. My 204 Ruger also made in 2014 has a 25.6 inch barrel. The muzzle was .742 inch. Because of the scope and ring set up I couldn't get a breech measurement on the 204 Ruger. My 2010 Varmint in 222 Remington with a 25.6 inch barrel appeared to have a breech measurement of .970 inch but it wasn't a good measurement once again. Hopefully you'll get some better measurements.
