I just received an e-mail saying mine has shipped so I'll give it a review once it comes in. At this point I'll take any ammo available but I do like the statistics listed.

Yea for that! I guess when you're a CCI Plinkster "name" you can claim 1070fps out of two inches? I'm not saying it wont do 1070 but then again it would be nice to see the proof in the pudding.

Odd thing happened. Checked out the Federal Punch ammo; but there wasn't any to order. Left the site without entering any of my information a couple days ago.

This morning there was a $106 charge from Vista Outdoors (Federal) on my card.

Dispute placed with my bank/card while wondering about what happened.

Mine came in the other day, picture for anyone interested. The bullets and the upper case have a thin layer of wax on them, you can see it if you look closely.

Vista Outdoors also owns Remington, CCI, and Speer, as well as many other shooting related companies like Uncle Mikeís and Hoppes to name a few.

Maybe you made a purchase at one of their other interests?

I guess it's an interesting round but no way am I relying on a rim fire cartridge for self defense. The are just to unreliable. I would want more energy and penetration. A .22lr can put your lights out just as quick as anything else if the shot placement is correct but I will stick to my CF rounds/guns for that.

I ordered some about two weeks ago. Still has not shipped. However, I was in a gun store on vacation here in Panama City beach Florida and I saw three boxes on the shelf. They went home with me. They at least look nice. Iíll report back how the shoot. I wonít mind burning through a box or two to see how they shoot.

I tried the Punch along with CCI Stingers.

Punch worked as expected. I fired one box with no problems. Very loud and a small fireball.

The Stingers had more shock and recoil as well as a large orange fireball.

Both were shot at the local indoor range at 7 yard and accuracy was equal .

I would have no problems using Punch or Stinger in my backup.

Is Punch ammo the standard length? Shorter than Stingers?
Stingers are a drop longer than normal and can have cycling probs.

Yes, Punch is standard size. I'm shooting out of a Walther P 22 and they recommend HV ammo, that's why I use the Stingers. they, and the Punch are HV.

Nah, doesn't roll off the tongue like knockout does, nor does it imply one shot one kill!

I would think considering the advertised velocities of both CCI Stingers and the new Federal Punch ammo they would have to be considered Hypervelocity rounds, not High Velocity. I'm definitely not shooting them in my Taurus PT22.
