Saw this pistol at my local Academy for 199.99 a couple of months back. Fondled it for a minute and thought to myself " this feels really plasticky". My Tx 22 feels better in my hand. I bought 2 spam cans of Monarch 223 rem instead.
Pages are rather peculiar on this thread, I can't get to page 5 to see what's there. Maybe a new thread will be required.
Shot the Kel-Tec P17 again. Added the Hogue universal grip sleeve for $8 which really improved grip and feel. Now it's even with the TX22.
I did pay about the same for both the TX22 and the P17. They're fairly equivalent in terms of what I like. Yet, the TX22 has more recoil and the P17 is more compact.
It would be tempting to get another P17 if they came back to their original price. Would not get another TX22 though.
Mine was going to be a car gun to just leave, that will fall to my pmr30 now. I let my mom shoot it and she could actually hit something with it, work the action, and liked the weight and size. Told me to find her one, so I just gave her mine. I saw the mini mamba and I would rather have that for my purposes. I like the sights on the p17 but I would rather have the set of tritium sights on the mamba
Would be surprised to see them back to $199. They'll probably come down and my estimated new and improved price point would be $299. It just competes too well with the TX22 which is in the $300s.
Maybe we will see 10/22s for $199 again and Kel-Tec P17s for the same price. Mentally, I'm moving on price wise though like everything else after they printed a bunch of money for us.
Do enjoy mine and people could be like me and buy when they are available again. We probably missed out on this form of an IPO.
I was just looking at Sportmans.com and they had green ones in stock for $169. When you search it says out of stock but if you click the link it says it will ship to your store and be there in about a week.
Yep and yesterday I went though the whole process of buying one to pick up later AND no go so I called, a very nice young lady went through the whole process and NO GO. She said the website is wrong, they have no inventory and no idea when they'd get any. Suggested putting it on my "wish list", it's been there for months. Good luck
I got a green one for $169 from Sportsman.com. Just checked every day early morning until they showed one in stock, ordered it, and picked it up in my store about a week later.
Just left my favorite local gun store. He knew I'd been wanting a P17 and let me know that one is on the way. A few weeks ago he said they would be$190. Let's see if that holds.
Another $169 P17 from Sportsmans Warehouse.
They still pop up every now and then in the early morning hours.
I now have three different colors, Black, Tan, and Green.
Yea I guess I'm spoiled by the Sportsman Warehouse $169 ones, I've been lucky enough to get a black, green and several tan ones. Just ordered another tan one yesterday.
I grabbed the first one that hit the shop, didn't even ask about the discount. Couldn't be happier. Great suppressor platform.
