Keeping the box helps with shipping, especially warranty service, and resale.

I tend to keep them until I don't, a timespan which varies wildly. I probably should be better about keeping them

I know why I have to keep them, my “ Real “ question is why do people pay more for a gun with a box than a gun without a box? The box only gets in the way, its just a box. But until people stop paying more for a gun with a box than without, i am doomed to keep them !

Ask the Miss's what needs to go.... Include original product in original box...I'll pay shipping...
HAPPY Wife HAPPY LIFE.....

It's the least I could do.....

This is why man invented heavy duty trash bags and attics/crawl spaces.
Put a few boxes in a heavy duty contractor grade hefty bag, toss in a couple silica gel packets, Shop Vac out all the air, seal with a couple zip ties (One with a cardboard tag listing contents), and stuff said package in the attic, crawl space, or under a bed.

Thatís how Iíve stored mine over the years.

Y'all will be happy to know that I put my gun boxes through the wood chipper and make mulch out of them. Thataway, your remaining examples are more valuable.

You're welcome.

Yes, people who get rid of their boxes make those who have them more valuable. The original box might add 10% to the resale.

Maybe we could sell our original boxes on the trading post. "10/22 plus an original box like the ones that came with 10/22s".

If you've got enough room to store all the boxes you've had you don't have enough guns....I save some but most go bye bye to make more room for safes.

You sure do not have to keep them..But I cannot imagine unless you live in a closet, You could not find room for them

Alot of people like boxes when the Firearm is sold..No doubt on that..Do not toss them.

I have have sold many boxes for big money over the years..Some worth more than the Firearm cost someone originally.

I knew someone would point out this truth.
Maybe I can fill the boxes with bricks & build a room addition out of them?
