Hi Folks!
I picked up a vintage Bausch & Lomb spotting scope with a classic Freeland scope stand. The finish on the stand is mostly gone, but more importantly, it's all there and functioning smoothly _except_ for the spring loaded plunger that tensions the elevation pivot:
The plunger is rusty and frozen in place. To get to it, I need to remove the main shaft under the plunger.
Anyone know how that shaft is secured to the stand? Is it simply threaded?
The shaft is partially hollow and so I don't want to risk damaging it by twisting it.
Thanks!
Dave
