Those old Stevens 416’s will shoot , especially the early X barrels that Mr Pope had his hands on. Brother has one that is 100% original that would outshoot the other brothers 52C any day.
Will have to try to get him to drag it out of the cabinet and see if it still has X’s in it.

Looks like David has found the sweet spot with the model 64 and Wolf ammo.

It is the old Wolf ammo...

Some years back I was shooting almost 20,000 rounds a year. I had purchased multiple cases of Wolf Match Extra and SK Rifle Plus, really the same ammo. My shooting rimfire is much reduced, so I have a multi-year supply of this very good mid-price benchrest ammo. I am age 78, so maybe enough for the rest of my life. Maybe I will have a brick put in the casket with me, however if I end up cremated, it will get noisy. Going out with a bang.

Range closed and too far to drive to the other range today.
A few perhaps have ruined our local range this year by shooting everything up. My local range is within the city limits in a nice wooded area. Membership to shoot there is a measly $10 per year.
Someone goes in and destroys the target stands typically within a day of replacing, and leave garbage to blow in the wind.
Perhaps the city that donated the land got sick of looking at the trash laying around!
No second target this month.
A few ruin it for everyone 😡
