Has anyone used the EGW base for a Martini MK2? What # and how do you like it?

Miike 214, It seems that it is too far forward for a good eye relief on my scope. EGW sells the base for Win 52 for the Martini. However the hole for the base on the Martini are 3" forward than the 52 holes. Thus the rings on the scope won't let the scope come back for the eye relief that I need. What scope are you using? thanks

You need to use the two holes closest to action. I have a 40 power muller and have plenty of eye relief. Mike

One of the guys on this forum, Stu, sells a different mount that attaches to the threaded holes that normally go for the rear sight. He even sells them on eBay.

On several vintage target rifles I have used a Brownells rail or Weaver rail and mill, file or grind the rear underneath side that goes over the front of the receiver (whatever you have access to). Very rigid, good eye relief and $5-10. Only takes a few minutes. With a Weaver base you may have to drill one hole but great thing is if you do it right it is rock solid.
