Looking for New red dot
I am looking for new red dot for my rifle. I have a Truglo on it now. I like it , but looking to up grade. I like the Cmore type or a tube type. What do you use?

My standard go to red dot for my pistols is the Burris FFIII. But, for the steel challenge pistol & rifle I am building up, I am going to go with the C-More 8 MOA red dots. More money, but the guns will be expensive anyways so why not splurge on the red dots that a LOT or people recommend for this dicipline. If it is in your budget, go with the C-more's.

Something to think about is brightness if it doesn't get bright enough you won't see it in bright sun. The big dot on the C-More is easier to see in bright sun.

the higher end models of Holosun have a solar cell that automatically brighten the dot with increase in ambient light... I really like my 510s... I have one on the 22/45 MKiv lite and the SBR

I have a vortex venom 6 moa dot on fnx tactical 45acp. Seems to work very well. It is nice that it can be purchased with different moa. I think 2moa 3moa or 6moa. I'm satisfied relatively inexpensive and easy to set up. About 250$

I have several Holosun's. The 500 series give you a 2 moa red dot with a 65 moa circle. The 400 series is just the 2 moa red dot. Some have solar panels to extend battery life which is pretty good anyway. Single dot can go to 50k hours and circle dot goes to 30k hours without the solar panel.

I have FTP Alpha 8 moa dots on my black mamba and CWA pistols. Good field of view, decent battery life, easy to use adjustment/on/off buttons, compact, comes with a nice dot cover. FTP has had 10 moas in the past.

I like the C-More Railway and see an awful lot of shooters using them. I like the 12 MOA dot. The bigger the better. Brightness is far superior to any other dot on the market.

Currently using vortex razor with 6moa dot on both my rifle and pistol. Happy with the brightness and dot size. Not cheap, but reliable! And reliability is number one in this game!

I have a Holosun HS403C that I like a lot. It has a 2 MOA dot and dual power (solar cell and battery), and 50,000 hour battery lfe. The cost was around $200. I lost a battery tray screw and Holosun sent me a complete new battery tray assembly with screws for free. Good product and a good company.
I also have a Vortex Crossfire CF-RD2 2 MOA red dot, also with 50,000 hour battery life, but no solar cell. It was around $140 and is also a good optic for the money.
I also have several Aimpoint red dots. You can't go wrong with Aimpoint, but you will pay for it.
For reflex red dots, I really like the Burris FF III and the Leupold DeltaPoint Pro.

I own three Vortex Razor red dots and love them.
Got all three of them from Optics Planet with a 10% off link for each of them.
All are 3 MOA models.

The op os putting on a RIFLE. No need for a micro red dot. If he can have magnification, the the speed shot is the ticket. Its dit doesn’t disappear in bright light.
