I've updated my post #1 with all new data, including extra magazine serial numbers in case anybody is interested.

I'm pretty sure that nobody knows if the extra serial #'d mags will correspond to existing rifles out there.
It would be great to reunite them if this is ever the case. It's a long shot I know,

Wow, that's by far the closest we've seen yet - I'm assuming apdair1 already has a paired magazine for his # 1283, I'd love to see if there are actually spare magazines serialed for known rifles ...

Edit: Thanks BruceR, added your two magazines to the list.

I was rummaging through a drawer where I keep magazines and discovered the second matching magazine for my rifle. (B-01395)

Thus I have two matching mags and two spares that don't match the rifle.

Thanks Rich, added to the list. I'll be assuming that all posted rifles will have a serialed matching magazine (so I won't bother with posting those mags).
However, it would be newsworthy to come across serialed spare magazines out there and reunite them with their original rifle.

My original mag is painted or Dura-coated over most of the mag and the area where the serial number is usually etched. With lighting just right I think a 5 is under the coating, but can't really be sure. I do have 3 spares from Wideners, those numbers are:

B04340
B04349
B04837

xl_target was kind enough to e-mail me a link to his prior thread on the topic from a few years back, which I have included below.
I have added this info to my post #1, no 'hits' yet but will keep on looking.

By listing magazine serial numbers and rifle numbers, it is hoped that members can exchange magazines so they end up with one that matches the serial number of the gun.
Also, if we put the year down, we could also have list of what serial numbers were made in what year.

The easiest way to do this would be to PM the member that you would like to make an exchange with and make your own arrangements.
The only suggestion that I would make is that if you feel your magazine spring is new or unused, just exchange the body. If we do that, there shouldn't be any accusations, later, that so-and-so sent me a mag with a bad spring.

It is your choice to participate in this thread if you want to help out your fellow RFCers.
