Just got back from Gander. I did get 1000 rounds for $80. They did not have the rifles. They are sold out and the truck was stuck in Syracuse because of the snow. Might be here by the weekend, and the wife said I could get one.

I picked up 20 boxes myself today, had to take them as indivual boxes all the bricks were broken down to single boxes. I should have looked closer, I see now I have several lot numbers. Oh well, I guess it all shoots one way or another.

It's really bugging you that people are talking about buying the Marlins, isn't it?

The Greensboro NC store was out of the ammo, but had 6 more of the rifles as of Monday night, the salesman wasn't sure if they would be getting anymore of the ammo during the sale. I picked up one of the rifles, looks pretty darn good for the price, the trigger is actually better than the one on my 917vs. I'm going to do this one myself rather than getting the Rifle Basix as I did on the 917vs. This one has a fair amount of take up then breaks very clean at about 3lbs., the rifling is nice and crisp looking, crown is nice and clean, concentric. The birch stock has a pleasing amount of plain grain, only negative is the pressed checkering, they should have just left it off, but a bit of sanding and steaming will take care of that. All in all a great little rifle for the price, think a nice little Simmons 3x9x32 AO ought to top it off well, then for what 210 bucks have a nice accurate little varmint and squirrel killing machine.

No it's not , It seems to be buggn' some others though, the guy that posted he would stipple over the checkering, had a good idea.If i'd have thought of that at the time i'd have bought one, done the same and gave it a paint job. It seems some people have trouble not kicking a dead horse. the guy counldn't get the HM2 on sale i just mentioned the other one. Get over it. --JMJ--

It would be nice if some of these "closeouts" on the guns and ammo would hit south dakota sometime this year.

I bought a brick of the ammo, I just hope more rifles come in. You know I'm a rimfire nut when I buy ammo for a rifle I don't even have!

Just got my wife's gun tonight. Put a tasco 3-9X40 on it ( I had it laying around). Better optics to come later, also a trigger job! If anyone knows any tricks on how to lighten the trigger, let me know.

G.M. m2

I finally got to G. Mtn. Their flyer has been out 2 weeks now. I asked one of the salesmen where the m2 ammo was. He said he didn't know if there was any left. The other salesman gave me a funny look. After I found them ( there were about 10 bricks). I went to the second salesman to check out. He said I was the first one to buy any m2 since the special started. Next week I'll get another brick, then they'll only have 8 bricks left. Maybe I should thank them for storing my ammo for me. lol They don't seem to be a real hot seller here.

I happened to be in Greensboro wednesday on other business and stopped by Gander Mt. just to browse. The last time I was there one of the salesmen told me they weren't going to get any more CCI 17hm2 ammo in. They only had a case when it went on sale and that went in less than a day. Went by the ammo aisle and lo an behold there were 26 boxes of CCI 17hm2 on the shelf, I asked the clerk behind the counter for a box and grabbed all 26 boxes.1300 rds. plus the 700 I already had should hold me for a while.
