This just struck me as kind of funny. I have nothing against 'em, just never had the inclination to own one.

I said much the same, 65 and never....until last year. Then I got a notion that a fun-gun/M-1ish 10/22 should be 'looked into'.
Other than it being a money sucking hole (MY lack of discipline) it is a hoot. Ive got three different ways to assemble it with completely different characters.
I am surprised at myself. Yet it makes sense, Im a futzer and its the perfect futzin machine.

I knew a fellow once whose wife had never been in a McDonalds. She thought that it made her special. I thought that it made her weird. That said, I've never owned a 10-22 either.

Later,
Johnny

I got my first 5 years ago when I was 62. Shouldn't have waited that long, they are fun to shoot and the customizing world around them is huuuuggggge.
There is no reason to be proud of avoiding them.

I don't have any cheap carbines, I've got a stainless walnut 50th year International, a bull-barrel Target and stainless (1234) LVT.

Don't get me wrong. It's not a pride thing. I actually really enjoy seeing all the customisation and artistry many on RFC do to theirs. The 10/22 is such a popular rifle I'm just some what surprised I've never owned one.

And, being that the first gun I bought was a Ruger MKI or II (can't remember which sold it decades ago) you'd think a 10/22 would have by now found its way into my home.
